Football is the first love of Ghana Aid, as sports has always served as a unifier and a bridge directly to people around the world. Through our hosting of football tournaments and our engagement with local football clubs, Ghana Aid was led to support additional community needs.

Thus far, Ghana Aid has hosted football games and charity nights to be able to fund cycles of giving. Personal donations from friends and family (both monetary and athletic equipment) have been a key part of fundraising efforts. We are looking for financial and charitable support from the wider public, including organizations that are interested in giving back to the diaspora.

In December 2020; with the help and support of some individual donors, Brentford FC, and The Retro Football Shirts Podcast; we were able to provide equipment kits to some local clubs. For January 2022, our charity game raised over £1200.

Not only does this go towards resources in the community. But the work and efforts of everyone involved go towards raising awareness for other needs in the cities and communities like Accra, Ghana.
